Emmaus

Emmaus is for people who want to build up the church in love and contribute to its ministry. The 3-day Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program for those who want to grow spiritually and mature as disciples of Jesus Christ. The experience is comprised of fifteen talks by lay and clergy on themes of God's grace, disciplines of Christian discipleship, and what is means to be the church. The course is wrapped in prayer and meditation, special times of worship and daily celebration of Holy Communion. The Emmaus community, made up of those who have attended an Emmaus weekend, support the experience with a prayer vigil, by preparing and serving meals, and other acts of love and self-giving. The Walk usually begins on Thursday evening and concludes Sunday evening. Men and women attend separate weekends. Except for break times, an Emmaus weekend is a very full experience. Come with empty hands and an open heart, planning to give yourself completely to the Emmaus Walk.
