Grief and Gratitude

Grief and Gratitude

Life was rolling at a fast pace. Then life stopped and we were living in what we’ve only seen in the movies—a pandemic. Life has now adjusted across the board.

It’s been a both/and season. The fear has been real. The joy has been real. We’ve gotten both/and.

The stress has been real. The lack of stress has been real. We’ve gotten both/and.

We have lost much and have much to grieve. We also have much to be grateful for. We’ve gotten both/and.

As a family, as a family devotion time, you are being invited to take the moments to both/and grieve what has been lost and be grateful. We get both. Do this as a practice. Do this together as a family.

These are written by Brenda Seefeldt Amodea who is our Family & Youth Pastor. Brenda has worked with teens since 1981 to present. She has lived through the teen years in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and now into the 2020s. Imagine that collected wisdom! Imagine just the teen language trends she has lived through. Pandemic schmandemic compared to all of that.

Whether you are a part of the Spirit & Life Church family or not, you are invited to download these family devotions. One of our church goals is to be known as a church that supports the parents of tweens and teens because you know how badly you need that support.
