Spirit and Life would like to welcome you to our Children's Ministries where we serve infants through 6th grade. Your children are very important to us and we strive to provide a positive learning environment where we share God's amazing Love and Grace so that they may grow in faith.

We also strive to be a resource for you as you desire to pass on your faith to your child. Bible verses and stories will also be sent home for you to use as you continue the adventure of the faith journey at home.

Please contact our Children's Ministries, Miss Janice Chipman at or 703-494-2931 if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions related to any of our children's programs.

Nursery - Infant to 3 years

spirit-and-life-infants-nurserySUNDAY 9:45AM - 12PM

Our nursery is available for infants to 3 year old children on Sundays from 9:45AM to Noon. Loving care is provided by at least 2 trained and equipped childcare providers at all times. Age appropriate activities are available for these little ones.

Team Jesus - Preschool to 3rd Grade

These Children's Activities are for children who are preschool eligible (3 years old by September 30th and potty trained) and for children in kindergarten and grades 1-3. Each year we will have special promotion activities as the children move from one area to another and Bibles will be presented at certain times along this journey.

SUNDAY 10AM - 11:15AM

During this hour, we focus on fun, faith-building activities, which begin by going into the church family service for the opening worship music. Upon returning to the Children's Ministry Area, the children experience "Hands-On-Bible" curriculum with lots of activities, crafts, and interactive play designed to teach the stories of our faith in ways that will really work for the children and they will enjoy. During this time, the children rotate through Bible, Craft, Game, Prayer, and Puppet stations. The goal is for each child to be actively growing a relationship with Jesus as his or her best friend ever! With parental permission, the children return to worship as a group to participate in communion each Sunday.

After service, the Children's Ministry continues through the Second Hour so you may participate in one of the Sunday morning small groups for adults or relax and enjoy a time of Christian Fellowship in the common area. Children will find this an even more active learning and fellowship time where they continue to learn more about Jesus.

T.A.G. (Tweens and God) - 4th, 5th, and 6th Grades

TAG Bible

During the 10AM worship, tweens are in worship with their parents. When the sermon time comes the tweens are dismissed to the Children’s Ministry Area where they will be joined with an adult and their own copy of the Hands-On Bible. For these 20 minutes the tweens will be opening their Bibles and learning the same lesson as Team Jesus but discovering the Biblical truths for themselves with some good discussion with the adult teacher. The tweens will then return to the church family worship and take communion with their families.

TAG Second Look
SUNDAY 11:15 - Noon

After service, TAG meets together again through Second Hour so you may participate in one of the Sunday morning small groups for adults or relax and enjoy a time of Christian Fellowship in the common area. The tweens will continue deeper into the lesson that was started during the worship hour.

TAG is open to everyone from 4th to 6th grade but if the 6th grader would rather join the teens in learning, he/she is free to do that.
