Flood Bucket Service Project

For our next service project, Spirit and Life will be collecting specific items to be used in filling Cleaning Buckets which we will donate for hurricane relief.  The buckets will be used by the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) to help victims of hurricanes in their effort to recover from the devastating effects of the storms.  Last year, UMCOR exhausted their supply of these buckets due to the major hurricanes our country sustained.

Our goal is to build fifteen buckets.  Because UMCOR is specific in identifying the items that must go in the buckets, we have developed several ways each of us can support this project.  You can:

  1. Buy The Bucket - provide a financial donation to cover the complete cost of the bucket. The team will purchase the items and assemble the bucket for you. Total for one bucket = $75.

    2. Build The Bucket - use the list provided to purchase ALL the items and drop them off for the team to assemble.

    3. Piece The Bucket - purchase SOME of the items and drop them off for the team to assemble.

    4. Support The Bucket - provide a financial donation to cover SOME of the items for the team to purchase and assemble.

We will have samples of the items on a table along with a sign-up sheet for you to choose what works best for you. The teens of our church will be available every Sunday to sign you up for your part and to collect the items.

Everything needs to be collected by Sunday, June 2.
